Step-by-Step Onboarding for New Employees

Accepting Your Invitation

If you are not already a Spikerz user, you will receive an invitation email from your organization.
Open the email and tap on the “Accept Invitation” button.

You will be redirected to the Spikerz platform to complete your registration.

First Login & Welcome Prompt

Once registered and logged in, go to your Spikerz Overview page.
At the top, you may see a blue notification box prompting you to get protected.
Click the “Set Up Protection” button inside the box.
You’ll now be redirected to the Employee Portal where all account protection actions are managed.
If you can't see this blue box. You can just tap on your profile picture at the top right of the page and tap on "Employee Portal" and then you will be redirected to your account.

Setting Up Your Protection

To be fully protected, you’ll complete the following five protection layers. Each comes with a simple guide when you click in:

Step 1: Connect your Personal Social Account (Facebook & LinkedIn)

Inside the portal, you’ll see a list of the accounts that are associated with your personal login.

🟢 Spikerz currently supports LinkedIn and Facebook (Meta) for employee-side protection.

If prompted, tap on the “Connect Profile” button to verify your ownership of the social profile.

As part of this process, you’ll be asked to connect your Facebook account or LinkedIn account for identity verification. This step ensures that only you can claim and protect the social accounts you're responsible for.

Facebook Connection Process

To ensure optimal protection of your social media assets, follow the steps below to securely connect your Facebook account to Spikerz.

Step 1: Start the Connection

Tap on “Connect Profile.”
Under the section labeled “For Individuals,” tap on “Connect with Facebook.”

Step 2: Facebook Authorization

You’ll now be redirected to Facebook to initiate the connection process.

If prompted, enter your Facebook password and tap “Continue.”

Note: If you’re already logged into Facebook on your device, this step may be skipped automatically.I

Important

Spikerz performs this process to verify that the Facebook account you're connecting is the one associated with your company’s social media assets.

Step 3: Approve Access

Grant Spikerz permission to connect to your Facebook account.

Rest assured: Spikerz does not access or use your personal account data for any other purpose.

Step 4: Finalize the Setup

Tap “Next” to continue.
Once the process is complete, Spikerz will establish an API connection to your Facebook account.

You’re now ready to proceed to the next step in your setup process.

LinkedIn Connection process

As part of Spikerz’s employee protection process, we help safeguard your personal LinkedIn account—especially when it's connected to your company’s social media assets. Please follow the steps below to complete the secure connection.

Step 1: Start the Connection

Tap on “Connect Profile.”
Under “For Individuals,” tap on “Connect with LinkedIn.”

Step 2: Authorize the Connection

You will be redirected to LinkedIn to authorize access.

If prompted, enter your LinkedIn login details and tap “Sign In” or “Allow.”
Note: If you’re already logged into LinkedIn on your browser or device, this step may be skipped automatically.

Important Reminder

Spikerz performs this step to ensure you're connecting the personal LinkedIn account that is associated with your company’s social assets.

Make sure you select the correct LinkedIn account.

Step 3: Finalize

Tap “Next” to complete the setup.
Once the connection is confirmed, Spikerz will establish a secure API link with your LinkedIn account.

You’re now protected - your personal LinkedIn account is securely linked as part of the employee protection program, ensuring the safety of both you and your company’s digital presence.

Step 2: Setting Up 2 Factor Authentication

Why use Spikerz 2FA?

Authentication codes are stored in a secure, centralized location.
Your backup codes are also backed up and secured at Spikerz.
You are not depended on only physical phone and can access your account from every place.

Setting up Spikerz 2FA only takes a few minutes. Follow the steps below to complete the process.

Click the Set 2FA button to begin the setup.

Step 3

Open the settings of the social media platform you wish to protect.

Begin the process of adding two-factor authentication and choose the authentication app method.

Facebook

Step 4

Select the option to enter the code manually. Copy the code from the platform and paste it into the input box in Spikerz to start activation.

Step 5

The social media platform will now ask you to verify the connection.
Take the 6-digit code generated by Spikerz, and enter it back into the platform to confirm the new 2FA method.

Step 6

Add the platform’s backup codes into Spikerz by writing them in the provided backup code section.

Step 7

That’s it! You’ve successfully completed the 2FA setup with Spikerz. Your account is now protected and connected.

Notes and Tips

You can update the backup codes anytime from the 2FA section.

You can remove your 2FA connection at any point.

If you already use an authentication app on Facebook you can have 2 methods of Authenticator app as a 2fa method. On LinkedIn, you need to choose only one.

Make sure to have a backup method (like a phone number) connected before making any changes.

Step 3: Personal Secured Inbox

In this step you will need to replace your social media accounts contact details with Spikerz email and phone number to ensure maximum protection on your personal account.

Secured email setup

Replace your recovery email with a secured, Spikerz-monitored email address.
This helps prevent phishing, email takeovers, and lost password issues.

Step 1: Tap on "Protect email" button.

Step 2: Tap on "Protect my email address".

Step 3: Fill in your private email address that you want your private social media account will be automatically forwarded to. After filling the address, tap on "Set up auto-forward" button.

Step 4: Now, Spikerz is generating a dedicated email address for your social media account.

Step 5: Copy this email address and paste it in your account contact info settings.

Important:

Make sure you are making this email address as your primary email.
- Facebook - Remove the original email you registered to Facebook after adding Spikerz's email. After you are installing Spikerz email you can re-add the previous email to have your private access as well.
- Linkedin - You have the ability to set the secondary email that you just added as the primary email.

Step 6: After sumbitting the email address in your contact information, you will need to verify this email address.

Facebook - You will get a 6-digit code email to your email inbox, from Spikerz domain. You'll need to insert this code to your Facebook account to complete the verification process.

LinkedIn - On LinkedIn you will need to confirm the email address verification through a link that will be sent to your new address.

Step 7: After finishing this step, your email address is activated and all set.

Secured phone number setup

Replace your phone number with a secured, Spikerz-monitored phone number address. This helps prevent phishing, account takeovers, and lost password issues.

Step 1: Tap on "Protect phone number" button.

Step 2: Tap on "Protect my phone number".

Step 3: Enter your email address that you want to get all SMS will be forwarded to.

Step 4: Insert the phone number provided by Spikerz and replace it with your current phone number on Facebook or Linkedin.

Step 5: Now, go check your email inbox (the one you filled in previous stage) and check for the verification code you received from Spikerz.

Step 6: After confirming the phone number, make sure you are make the phone number as primary phone number.

Facebook - On Facebook please make sure you are keeping this phone number as the only phone number in your account.

LinkedIn - Change the phone number to be your primary phone number.

Step 7: If you reached for this level - you are all set and good to go!

Why using Spikerz email and phone number?

You will get anonymized email address that no one will know about and increase your account security.
Spikerz will scan any messages coming from your Facebook and LinkedIn accounts - making sure you open only legitimate emails avoiding phishing and hacking attempt.
This will let us use the account lockout mechanism - That basically protect your account 24/7 from any hackings.

Step 4: Add backup email

In case you are using SSO or your work email to register to Spikerz, please make sure you are adding a recovery email that will give you access even if you don't have for these email addresses since you are not longer working in the company or just outside the office on a vacation.

Step 1: Connect your Gmail address as a recovery login for Spikerz and finish the short setup.

Step 2: Now you are all set! You can login to your employee portal even if you don't have access to the organizational SSO.

You can always remove this email and use other Gmail account.

Step 5: Personal Account Lockout Protection

Enable detection of suspicious activity (e.g. new logins, 2FA changes) and configure auto-response rules for your account.

📘 How to Set Up Account Lockout Protection

Once you've completed all three steps, your profile will display a "Fully Protected" status. You can always return to this screen to update or adjust your setup.

What Happens When You Leave the Company

When your employment ends, Spikerz will notify you and initiate the offboarding process.

You will have 60 days to access the Employee Portal (changes according to the company policy)
During this time, you must remove all Spikerz-managed contact details (email, phone, 2FA) and replace them with your personal ones

🔐 This ensures you retain full ownership and access to your social media accounts after leaving the organization.

Please follow the in-app instructions carefully. Spikerz will guide you through each step of restoring personal contact methods safely.

Final Reminders

All protection layers must be completed for full security.
You will be notified if any step is incomplete or needs attention by your employer.
Reach out to your Spikerz admin or support if you have trouble verifying your profile or completing setup.
During offboarding, not changing contact details back to personal info may result in loss of account control.
