Your Spikerz Account: Sign Up, Sign In and Security

Create your account, sign in, protect it with two-factor authentication, keep your contact details up to date, and store your social media accounts' 2FA codes in Spikerz

Written by Ron Storfer

This guide covers everything about your own Spikerz account. It shows you how to:

  • Sign up and join your workspace

  • Update your email address, phone number and password

  • Protect your Spikerz login with two-factor authentication (2FA)

  • Store your social media accounts' 2FA codes in the Spikerz 2FA vault

The sign-up process at Spikerz is straightforward, offering three distinct methods:

  • Email - create an account using your email and password. This method requires email verification for your protection.

  • Google - sign up with your Google account, with no separate email verification needed.

  • Facebook - sign up using your Facebook account. Spikerz uses the email address from your Facebook profile to send you all alerts.

Important: All notifications are sent to the email you register with.

Joining a Workspace You Were Invited To

When an Admin or Team Manager invites you, you receive an email titled Invitation - Join your team on Spikerz.

Step 1: Accept the invitation

Open the email and tap Accept your invitation.

Invitation email

Step 2: Choose how to sign in

The page that opens shows You were invited to and the workspace name. Choose how to accept the invitation, using the same email address the invite was sent to.

Step 3: Verify your email (if asked)

If you signed up with email and password, Spikerz sends a Verify Your Email for Spikerz message. Tap Verify Email to finish.

Verify your email message

You now have access to the workspace, with the role and social accounts the person who invited you chose.

Sign in using the same method you originally registered with.

If two-factor authentication (2FA) is on for your account, Spikerz asks for a 6-digit code after you sign in. If your workspace requires 2FA and you have not set it up yet, Spikerz asks you to set it up first. See Two-Factor Authentication for Your Spikerz Login below.

Important Things to Know

  • When you register with Google or Facebook, you won't have a separate password for your Spikerz account.

  • Verifying your email is essential before accessing the platform.

  • If your company uses single sign-on (SSO), sign in through your company's login.

  • If you have trouble registering or signing in, contact us for assistance.

Updating Your Email Address

At this time, you cannot update your email address directly through the Spikerz platform.

To request an email change, please contact Spikerz Support:

📨 Email: [email protected]

Include the following in your message:

  • Your current email address

  • The new email address you wish to use

  • A brief explanation (e.g., personal email change, switching company)

Our support team will verify your identity and process the change for you.

Updating Your Phone Number

Unlike email, updating your phone number can be done directly from the Spikerz dashboard.

How to Update

  1. Tap the top-right profile icon > Settings > My profile

  2. Enter your new number in the Mobile phone field

  3. Tap the "Save" button

You will immediately receive a 6-digit verification code via SMS.

  1. Enter the code into the confirmation box

  2. Once verified, your phone number will be officially updated

⚠️ The Mobile phone on your profile is not the number that receives your Spikerz sign-in codes. If you use two-factor authentication by text message, that number is managed separately in Settings > Security > SMS/Text message. See Two-Factor Authentication for Your Spikerz Login below.

Why Keeping Your Number Updated Matters

Your verified phone number allows Spikerz to:

  • Forward verification codes securely from your connected social accounts

  • Send alerts about suspicious logins or protection updates

  • Ensure you don’t lose access to accounts protected via Spikerz phone forwarding

⚠️ If your number is not updated or verified, you may miss critical alerts or account verification codes.

Changing Your Password

If you sign in with an email and password, you can change your password from the Security tab. It is no longer on the My profile tab.

  1. Tap the top-right profile icon > Settings > Security

  2. Under Sign in methods, tap Change password

Sign in methods and two-factor authentication in Settings, Security
  1. Enter your current password under Verify current password

  2. Enter your new password under New password and again under Confirm new password

  3. Tap Change password

Change password window

The same tab is where you turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) for your sign-in. See Two-Factor Authentication for Your Spikerz Login below.

If you sign up with Google or Facebook, you don't have a separate Spikerz password to change.

Two-Factor Authentication for Your Spikerz Login

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second step to your Spikerz sign-in. After you enter your password, Spikerz asks for a 6-digit code from your authenticator app or from a text message. Someone who learns your password still cannot get into your account without that code.

With this feature, you can:

  • Protect your own Spikerz login with an authenticator app, a text message, or both.

  • Require every member of your workspace who signs in with a password to use 2FA (Admins only).

  • Review every 2FA change in the Activity log.

Who Is Asked for a Code

  • Email and password - you are asked for a code every time you sign in once 2FA is on.

  • Google or Facebook - if you turned on 2FA for your account, you are asked for the code after you sign in with Google or Facebook too.

  • Single sign-on (SSO) - your company's login handles verification. The workspace 2FA requirement does not apply to SSO sign-ins.

Turn On 2FA with an Authenticator App

An authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy) creates a new 6-digit code every 30 seconds, even without a network connection.

Step 1: Open the Security tab

Click the top-right profile icon > Settings > Security. The Two-factor authentication (2FA) section lists both methods.

Step 2: Turn on Authenticator app

Turn on the Authenticator app switch. If you have not signed in recently, Spikerz first asks you to Confirm it's you with your password or your sign-in provider.

Step 3: Scan the QR code

In the Set up authenticator app window, open your authenticator app and scan the QR code. Then click Next.

Can't scan? Click Or type in the code. The Setup key window shows a key you can copy into your authenticator app instead.

Step 4: Enter the code

Enter the 6-digit code your authenticator app shows, then click Enable. The switch turns on and Spikerz confirms Successfully enabled two-factor authentication.

Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app

Turn On 2FA with SMS/Text Message

Spikerz texts a 6-digit code to your phone each time you sign in.

Step 1: Turn on SMS/Text message

In Settings > Security, turn on the SMS/Text message switch.

Step 2: Add your phone number

In the Set up SMS/Text message window, choose your country code, enter your mobile number under Phone number, and click Next.

Step 3: Enter the code

Enter the 6-digit code sent to your phone and click Enable. If the text does not arrive, wait for the countdown to finish and click Get a new code.

Enter the 6-digit code sent to your phone

⚠️ Note: The number you add here is used only for sign-in codes. It is separate from the Mobile phone on your My profile tab, which Spikerz uses for alerts and verification code forwarding. SMS codes are not available in every country. If your number is not supported, use an authenticator app instead.

Signing In with 2FA

Sign in as usual. After your password (or your Google or Facebook sign-in), Spikerz asks for your code.

Authenticator app
The Verify with your authenticator app screen opens. Enter the 6-digit code from your app and click Verify & log in. If you set up both methods, Spikerz asks for the authenticator app first.

Verify with your authenticator app screen

SMS/Text message
The Verify with your phone screen opens and Spikerz texts a code to the phone ending in the digits shown. Enter it and click Verify & log in. Click Get a new code if it does not arrive.

Verify with your phone screen

Choose another method
If you set up both methods, click Choose another method to switch between the authenticator app and text message.

Choose another 2FA method screen

Important Things to Know

  • After 5 incorrect codes in a row, code entry pauses: Too many incorrect codes. Wait 30 seconds and try again.

  • Sign-in links from Spikerz emails cannot be used on an account with 2FA. Opening one shows This account is protected by 2FA. Sign-in links can't be used for it. Sign in with your email, password, and code instead.

  • Changing your 2FA settings may ask you to Confirm it's you with your password or your current code.

Require 2FA for Your Workspace

Admins can require 2FA for everyone in the workspace who signs in with an email and password.

Step 1: Set up 2FA for yourself

Turn on at least one method for your own account first. Until you do, the requirement checkbox is disabled and shows Set up two-factor authentication for yourself to change this requirement.

Step 2: Turn on the requirement

In Settings > Security, select Require two-factor authentication for all password login users on this account. The change saves right away. Only Admins see this checkbox.

What Members See

A member who signs in with a password and has no 2FA method is taken to the Set up two-factor authentication (2FA) screen before they can use the workspace. They choose Authenticator app or SMS/Text message, finish the setup, and continue to where they were going. If Spikerz then asks them to sign in again, they sign in with their password and new code.

Set up two-factor authentication (2FA) screen

  • Members who sign in with Google, Facebook, or SSO are not asked to set up 2FA by this requirement.

  • While the requirement is on, members cannot turn off their only method. To switch methods, they turn on the other method first, then turn off the old one.

Turning Off a Method

In Settings > Security, turn off the method's switch. Spikerz asks you to Confirm it's you with a code, then asks Turn off two-factor authentication? Click Turn off 2FA to confirm.

Turn off two-factor authentication confirmation

  • Last method - you will no longer be asked for a code when you sign in.

  • One method left - you are still asked for a code, using your other method.

To change the phone number that receives your codes, turn off SMS/Text message and turn it on again with the new number.

Lost Your Phone or Authenticator App?

If you set up both methods, click Choose another method on the sign-in screen and use the other one.

If you cannot use either method, click Contact support under Problem with 2FA on your account?, or write to us:

📨 Email: [email protected]

Our support team verifies your identity and removes 2FA from your account. You then receive an email titled Two-factor authentication was removed from your account, and you can sign in with your password and set up 2FA again.

⚠️ If you receive that email and did not ask for it, contact us immediately.

Tracking 2FA Changes in the Activity Log

Every 2FA change is recorded in the Activity log. Filter by Action to find:

  • Two-Factor Login Method Enabled - a member turned on an authenticator app or SMS/Text message.

  • Two-Factor Login Method Disabled - a member turned a method off.

  • Two-Factor Login Enforcement Updated - an Admin turned the workspace requirement on or off.

  • Two-Factor Login Factors Cleared - Spikerz support removed 2FA from a member's account at their request.

Spikerz 2FA Vault for Your Social Media Accounts

The 2FA vault stores the two-factor authentication codes of your brand's social media accounts in Spikerz, instead of on one person's phone. It doesn't change how you sign in to Spikerz itself.

With the 2FA vault:

  • Authentication codes are stored in a secure, central place.

  • Approved team members can get a code when they need it.

  • You don't lose access when someone leaves the team.

  • Access is managed from the Members screen.

Step 1: Open Account protection

In Spikerz, open Account protection from the left-hand menu and select the social media account you want to protect.

Step 2: Click Set 2FA

Click Set 2FA to begin the setup.

Step 3: Start 2FA on the platform

Open the security settings of the social media platform (see Where to Find 2FA on Each Platform below). Start adding two-factor authentication and choose the authentication app method. If an authenticator app is already set up there, remove it first.

Step 4: Copy the platform's setup key into Spikerz

On the platform, choose the option to enter the code manually. Copy the setup key the platform shows and paste it into the input box in Spikerz to start activation.

Step 5: Confirm the connection on the platform

The platform asks you to verify the new method. Take the 6-digit code Spikerz generates and enter it on the platform to confirm.

Step 6: Save the backup codes

Copy the platform's backup codes into the Backup codes section in Spikerz.

Step 7: Done

Your account is now protected with Spikerz 2FA, and approved team members can get its codes from Spikerz when they need them.

Where to Find 2FA on Each Platform

Instagram
Settings > Accounts Center > Password and security > Two-factor authentication. Choose the account, then Authentication app.

Facebook
Settings & privacy > Accounts Center > Password and security > Two-factor authentication. Choose Authentication app.

TikTok
Settings and privacy > Security > 2-step verification. Choose Authenticator app.

YouTube
Your Google account > Security > 2-Step Verification. Add Authenticator.

X (formerly Twitter)
Settings > Security and account access > Security > Two-factor authentication. Choose Authentication app.

Test the Setup

Log out of the social media account, log back in with its username and password, and enter the code from Spikerz when the platform asks for it.

Updating Backup Codes or Removing 2FA

You can update the backup codes at any time from the 2FA section of the account.

To disconnect the account from the 2FA vault, choose Remove 2FA. Make sure the account has another way to sign in, such as a phone number, before you remove it.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Turn on both 2FA methods for your Spikerz login, so you can still sign in if you lose your phone or your authenticator app.

  • Admins: require 2FA for the workspace, so every password sign-in is protected.

  • Never share your codes or your setup key with anyone.

  • Keep your phone number verified so you don't miss alerts or forwarded verification codes.

  • Save your social media accounts' backup codes in the 2FA vault, so your team can always get back in.
