Managing TikTok Business Center permissions

Written by Nathan

Overview

Spikerz connects to TikTok through a TikTok Business Center, not only one account at a time. A single authorization by a Business Center Admin discovers every Business Center that user administers, along with the TikTok accounts each one manages, and enables user and access management across all of them.

This connection enables:

- Automatic discovery of the TikTok accounts managed by your Business Center

- A full list of members, their roles, and their per-asset assignments

- Inviting new people to a Business Center or to individual TikTok accounts

- Editing roles and asset assignments for existing members and pending invitations

- Revoking invitations and removing access without leaving Spikerz

This replaces the manual, one-account-at-a-time onboarding that TikTok previously required for every profile you wanted Spikerz to manage.

Before You Start

Make sure:

- You are an Admin of the TikTok Business Center you want to connect

- You are logged into the TikTok account that holds that Admin role

- You know which TikTok accounts the Business Center manages

⚠️ Only Business Center Admins can connect a Business Center to Spikerz. With a lower Business Center role the connection returns no accounts, and Spikerz shows "You're not an Admin of any Business Center". Ask an Admin to upgrade your access, or connect with a TikTok account that already has it.

How to Connect a TikTok Business Center

Step 1

Start connecting a new account in your Spikerz dashboard and choose TikTok.

Step 2

On the TikTok connect screen, look under "For businesses" and select "TikTok business". The option above it, under "For creators and public pages", connects a single TikTok profile instead.

Step 3

Log in with the TikTok account that holds Business Center Admin access, and approve the requested access.

Step 4

Select the TikTok accounts you want Spikerz to manage. Accounts are grouped by company and Business Center, so you can expand a Business Center and pick from the accounts it manages.

Step 5

Confirm your selection to finish connecting. Spikerz then scans the Business Center and its accounts for members, roles and assignments.

⚠️ Only the TikTok accounts managed by the Business Center can be connected here. Ad accounts, catalogs, leads and stores are visible inside the Business Center but are not offered as connectable TikTok accounts in Spikerz.

Reviewing Who Has Access

Open Permissions from the left-hand sidebar and use the asset filter to select "TikTok Business Center" or a specific TikTok account. The Users tab lists everyone Spikerz found on the asset, along with their role and the assets they are assigned to.

⚠️ TikTok does not share full member email addresses with Spikerz. A member discovered inside the Business Center may therefore appear without a complete email address until they are matched to an invitation sent from Spikerz.

How to Invite Someone to a TikTok Asset

Step 1

On the Permissions page, click "Invite" to open the "Invite people" flow.

Step 2

In "Enter people", fill in the first name, last name and email address of each person you want to add. Turn on "Temporary access" and set an expiration date if the access should end automatically.

Step 3

In "Assign assets", choose the platform section you need: "TikTok Business Center" invites people to your connected Business Centers, and "TikTok Accounts" invites people to the TikTok accounts a connected Business Center manages.

Step 4

Select the assets, then assign a role for each one. Roles are explained in the next section.

Step 5

If you select a TikTok account, Spikerz automatically selects the Business Center that manages it, applies the "Standard" role, and locks that selection, because access to a managed account is granted through its Business Center. You will see the note "This Business Center is selected because accounts it manages are selected." Deselecting the TikTok account releases the lock.

Step 6

Review the invitation in the final step, then send it. The invitation appears on the Permissions page as pending until the person accepts it.

TikTok Roles Explained

TikTok uses one set of roles at the Business Center level and another for each TikTok account. Every member holds a single role per asset.

Business Center roles:

  1. Admin – Full access to the Business Center, including managing members, assets and finances.

  2. Standard – Can only work on the ad accounts and TikTok accounts they are assigned to.

TikTok account roles:

  1. Admin – Access to all Business Account features, including verification, member management and linking to Business Center.

  2. Operator – Can manage the TikTok account's analytics, posts, messages and profile information.

  3. Analyst – Can only access analytics. Can't manage posts, messages, etc.

⚠️ Use "Standard" for Business Center members who only work on specific accounts. "Admin" also grants control over members, assets and finances for the whole Business Center.
