How to Invite People to Your Social Accounts

Invite people and manage their access to your social accounts, right from Spikerz

Written by Nathan

Admins can invite people to your connected social media accounts and choose their permissions directly from Spikerz, without opening each platform separately.

To review who already has access, or to remove someone, see How to use Spikerz permissions management?.

How to Invite People

Inviting people is a short, three-step flow. Start on the Asset permissions page and select Invite.

Step 1
Enter each person's details - first name, last name, and email. To invite several people at once, select Add another to create a new row. If you want the access to end automatically, turn on Temporary access and choose an expiration date (between 3 and 75 days away). When at least one person is added correctly, continue to the next step.

Step 2
Assign the assets each person should have access to. Choose a platform, select one or more assets (you can search and select all), and set the permissions for each asset. Permissions vary by platform, and choosing Full control automatically includes the related permissions it covers.

Step 3
Review a summary of who you're inviting and the assets and permission levels they'll receive. The Invite button shows how many assets are included. Select it to send the invitations, and you'll see a confirmation once they're sent.

Tracking Pending Invitations

After you send an invite, the person receives it by email from the platform and appears as Invitation pending until they accept. Open a user's drawer to see the invitation status, including how long is left before it expires.

From there you can:

  • Resend - send the invitation to the person again.

  • Revoke invitation - cancel the invitation. You'll be asked to confirm first.

Giving Someone More Access

You can update someone's access at any time. From a user's row or drawer, choose Assign assets to give them access to additional assets, or Manage permissions to change what they can do on a specific asset.

If the person already has access to an asset you select, an Access will be updated notice lets you know their existing access will be changed. If a person doesn't yet have an email on file, you'll be asked to enter one before the invitation is sent.

Managing Temporary Access

People with temporary access are marked with a Temporary access indicator, and their access is removed automatically when it expires. To adjust it, open the Manage temporary access modal from the user's drawer, where you can:

  • Change the expiration date using the date picker

  • Remove the expiration date to make the access permanent

Select Save to apply your changes.

Supported Platforms

Inviting and assigning permissions is available for:

  • Meta Business Suite

  • Facebook Pages

  • Instagram Business

  • WhatsApp Business

  • YouTube

  • LinkedIn (external invitations only)

⚠️ YouTube and LinkedIn require a connected system user. If one isn't connected for an account, it will show No system user connected and won't be available for invitations until the connection is in place.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Use Temporary access for contractors, freelancers, or anyone who only needs short-term access.

  • Review pending invitations regularly and revoke any that are no longer needed.

  • When someone changes roles, use Manage permissions instead of removing and re-inviting them.
