What Is the Comment Settings Panel?

The Comment Settings panel gives you full control over how Spikerz scans, flags, and removes harmful or irrelevant comments across your connected social media accounts. Whether you want to block spam, auto-remove hate speech, or train the AI to catch comments unique to your industry — this is your control center.

Everything you set here directly influences how the Comment Cleaner works.

Core Moderation Categories

When you enter the Comment Settings screen, you'll first see a set of default protection categories. These are turned off by default until you configure them.

Category

What It Catches

Spam

Comments like “DM me,” “Follow for follow,” and other repetitive spam patterns

Hate Speech

Language that may be offensive or harmful to you or your audience

Scam

Attempts to trick your audience (e.g. giveaways, fake prizes, impersonators)

Phishing

Links or messages designed to steal credentials or payment information

How to Configure Each Category

Each category offers two options:

  • Alert Toggle – Enable this to receive notifications for flagged comments in this category

  • Auto-Delete Toggle – Turn this on to remove flagged comments automatically from your posts

This allows for both manual moderation and hands-off protection based on your comfort level.

⚠️ Don’t forget: Always click "Save" after making any changes.
Changes are not saved unless you click the Save button at the bottom of the settings panel.

Apply Settings Across All Assets

Beneath the Save button, you’ll find the “Apply to All Assets” checkbox.
When selected, this will apply your current configuration across all social media assets in your Spikerz workspace.

Use this if you want consistent moderation rules across multiple accounts.

Custom Keyword Filtering

You can also create your own banned keyword list. Any comment containing one of these terms will be flagged according to your rules.

Just enter your keywords and decide if:

  • You want to alert on them

  • Or auto-delete them on detection

This feature is ideal for personal brand slurs, slang, or campaign-specific threats.

AI Topic Filtering

This is where Spikerz becomes fully customizable. AI Topic Filtering allows you to create your own moderation categories—using AI to interpret the intent of a comment, not just the words.

To create a custom AI filter:

  1. Topic – Give your filter a clear title (e.g., "Off-topic comments", "Aggressive criticism")

  2. Topic Description – Explain what you want to filter. Include examples, tone, and context.

The more detailed your description, the smarter the filter becomes.
You can create unlimited categories, each with manual or automatic removal settings.

Account Information Section

At the bottom of the settings panel, you’ll find the Account Information section.

Choose your:

  • Account Type (e.g., Creator, Brand, Agency, Publisher)

  • Industry (e.g., Tech, Fashion, Wellness, Finance)

This helps Spikerz understand your content better and tailor moderation to your audience.
It improves AI accuracy by filtering out comments that may be okay in general but not relevant to your brand.

Blocked Users

Spikerz also lets you manage and control users who have been blocked from commenting on your assets.

You’ll see:

  • A list of blocked users

  • Options to unblock any user

  • A toggle to enable Auto-Blocking for repeated offenders

Blocked users will no longer be able to comment, and if tied to an active auto-deletion rule, future comments will be removed without alert.

Blocked Impersonators

Spikerz also flags impersonators who attempt to comment using fake versions of your name, logo, or content. In this section, you can:

  • View the full list of flagged impersonator accounts

  • Unblock users if needed

  • Enable Auto-Removal of impersonator comments moving forward

This ensures you're not only filtering bad content — you’re stopping identity theft in your replies.

Best Practices & Reminders

  • Use auto-delete for urgent categories like phishing and impersonation

  • Review your AI categories monthly to keep them relevant

  • Use AI Topic Filtering to build contextual understanding of your comment section

  • Always tap Save after every change

  • Use Apply to All Assets for consistent coverage across platforms

  • Set up custom keywords for brand-sensitive terms or slurs specific to your audience
