Spikerz Workspace Roles

Manage and invite teammates, assign roles, and control who can access your social accounts.

Written by Ron Storfer

How to manage your workspace?

  1. Tap the top-right profile icon and select "Settings."

2. Tap on "Members" and then tap the "Invite" button.

3. Enter the email address of the person you want to invite to the platform.

4. Choose the user’s role:

  • If you select "Admin", they will get full access to all social media accounts connected to the workspace.

  • If you select "Team Manager", they will get everything a Manager has, plus the ability to invite and remove users in the collections they belong to. They will not have access to billing, SSO, or Admin management. Assign them to the collections they are responsible for, such as a local market, rather than to individual accounts.

  • If you select "Manager", they will get extended Member-level access - including permissions management, activity logs, and Business Hub settings - but not billing or member management. Like Members, they only get access to specific accounts that an Admin assigns.

  • If you select "Member", they will only get access to specific accounts that an Admin assigns.

  • If you select "Community Manager", they will have access only to comment and DM management within Spikerz.

  • If you select "Viewer", they will have view-only access in Spikerz and will not be able to perform any actions.

As an Admin, you’ll need to select which accounts they should have access to inside Spikerz

5. After assigning the necessary permissions, tap "Invite." An email invitation will be sent to the user.

Managing User Roles and Permissions

How to change a user’s role

  1. Tap the “Admin” dropdown next to the user’s name.

2. Select “Member” to downgrade access, or “Admin” to upgrade it.

| When switching from Member to Admin, the user will automatically be granted full access to all connected accounts.

| When switching from Admin to Team Manager, Manager, Member, Viewer, or Community Manager, you’ll be prompted to select specific accounts for them.

Only Admins can change a user’s role.

How to manage account access for Members

  1. Tap the “...” (three-dot menu) next to the user’s name.

  2. Select “Manage access.”

3. Add or remove access to specific social media accounts.

4. Changes are applied instantly, and the user’s access is updated in real time.

Managing Members as a Team Manager

The Team Manager role lets a local market or team lead manage their own team without becoming a full Admin. A Team Manager can invite and remove users, but only within the collections they belong to.

As a Team Manager, the "Members" page shows only the users in your collections. Admins still see everyone in the workspace.

How to invite a user as a Team Manager

  1. Go to "Settings" and tap "Members".

  2. Tap the "Invite" button and enter the email address of the person you want to invite.

  3. Choose the user’s role. As a Team Manager, you can invite "Manager" or "Member" users.

  4. Under "Social assets", select at least one of your collections. The new user will only get access through the collections you choose.

  5. Tap "Invite." An email invitation will be sent to the user.

How to remove a user as a Team Manager

  1. Tap the “...” (three-dot menu) next to the user’s name.

  2. Select “Remove member.”

  3. Review what will happen, then confirm. What Spikerz removes depends on where else the user has access:

  • If the user is only in your collections, they will be removed from your collections and lose access to Spikerz. Tap “Remove from Spikerz” to confirm.

  • If the user also has access to collections managed by someone else, they will be removed from your collections only and stay in the workspace. Tap “Remove from my collections” to confirm.

| If the user has left the company, select “Ask an Admin to remove them from Spikerz” and add a reason. Your Admins will get an email with your reason and a link to remove the user from Spikerz.

Users with access through a parent collection

Some users get access to your collections through a larger collection you don’t manage. For example, a user who belongs to Europe also has access to Germany. These users show an “Access via” tag with the name of that collection.

You can’t remove these users yourself. Instead:

  1. Tap the “...” (three-dot menu) next to the user’s name.

  2. Select “Ask an Admin to remove.”

  3. Add a reason (optional) and tap “Send to Admins.”

Your Admins will get an email with your reason and a link to remove the user from Spikerz. Nothing is removed until an Admin takes action.

⚠️ A Team Manager cannot:

  • Change the role of an existing user

  • Invite or remove Admins or other Team Managers

  • Give users access to individual accounts (Team Managers give access through collections only)

  • Access billing, SSO, or delete the workspace

These actions stay with the workspace Admins.
